Wikipedia defines Magical Realisim as: Magic realism, (also known as magical realism or marvelous realism) is a style of fiction and literary genre that paints a realistic view of the modern world while also adding magical elements.[1] Magical realism, perhaps the most common term, often refers to literature in particular, with magical or supernatural phenomena presented in an otherwise real-world or mundane setting, commonly found in novels and dramatic performances.
I do not recall having reading any genre such as this but after researching it, I will have to definitely find the time to do so. I have read the summaries for the these following novels: One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Ocean at the End of the Lane and Beloved. I believe I will begin with reading the second novel as it appeals to me.
